so far this school year...

Hope has suddenly started talking a ton more. and she is talking louder, makes me wonder if they are working on her volume , in addition to her speech. YAY and yet our house is suddenly a much louder place. i think it also has to do with Joy being gone , and Hope having more one-on-one time with me.

Peyton tested for ELP this week and got in. he had to score 96 or better in 2 out of 3 areas and he got 92, 97, and 97. he is really excited. and we are talking about the nerd school for him next year. The nerd school is a new technical elementary school . it is called the Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies. it apparently has the brightest in math and science for 4-8th graders in the district. Each kid gets their own laptop and they are learning at a faster pace and has a more challenging curriculum. with more emphasis on math, science and computers. i have mixed feelings on this, since we just got to our current school, that is conveniently located. and the other kids all go there, but Peyton is excited and wants to try extra hard this year so he can go there next year. we'll see .

Joy was singing the days of the week song for me, when i joined in she told me , "you sing it better than my teacher" and maybe i could give her teacher some pointers on how to sing it better.
you know the one, (to the tune of the Adams family)

days of the week,(snap, snap)
days of the week (snap, snap)
days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap ,snap)
there's Sunday and there's Monday ,
there's Tuesday and there's Wednesday,
there's Thursday and there's Friday,
and then comes Saturday,
days of the week(snap, snap)
days of the week(snap, snap)
days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap ,snap)

Mona's girls are going there (Mesa Academy) this year. I'll let you know what she thinks of it as the year progresses.

Yay for Hope! And Peyton! I had mixed feelings about ELP. T-dog liked it in 4th grade, but not so much in 5th grade. It wasn't quite what I expected, but I guess it was good for him. The other school sounds good though.

I see your comments on a lot of the blogs that I frequent, so I figured it was time to pop over and get to know you. Looks like fun. BTW--that song is totally how my daughter learned her days!

Alright, I'm going to have to have you sing the song for me. I am not getting it. Maybe you (or Joy) can give me some pointers. Its not working for me!!

Now that Peyton has the score he does on ELP he will always be known as a BRILLIANT child. It is a joy to have one, but alot of work. Trying to stay ahead of them is hard, especially when they get older and you have no clue what homework they are doing. I am ALWAYS 3 steps (or more) behind him. But I LOVE the adventure that he has taken me on thus far!!

wow, laptops for each student!? i'm quite impressed with that single thought!

ahhhh...the adams fam song takes me back to my days of student teaching kindergarten! I can't wait for the day that I have my own class to teach that song too and snap away with ! only 10 more years...yikes!
