big fat whiner!

yeah i feel like a big fat whiner. sorry.
and part of it is my fault i am not bolder with this Dr.
as far as cancer goes this is an easy one. so i should be gald it is out. and the scan is being scheduled. and be happy. and move on.

about the scan. I'll have thryogen shots. to quickly raise my TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) .two days in a row. then on the 3rd day i go in for blood work. a thyroid panel. some other crap. and a serum HCG level. yeah that is a pregnancy test. since you can't do a scan if you are prego. they make everyone in within childbearing age do it. then i go in another day. and swallow the radioactive iodine pill. a scan does with is generally 3 millicuries. so only a little radioactive.

for my ablation dose in 2005 , i had 100 millicuries and was in isolation for 3 days in the hospital. and 4 days at home , while the family went to Lance's mom's house. it was really a mini vacation that included lots of TV watching, and naps. pretty great for a busy mom of 5.

anyway no vacation this time. jsut a scan dose, with a full body scan . top of head to mid thigh.
then i go back a day or two later for another scan and reading of radiation levels. and then i have one last appointment with the DR. to go over results but I'm not seeing the DR. i am seeing a PA. because it's just to go over results,. and really this office just wants to milk another copay outta me. here is hope the nuclear medicine specialist goes over results with me on scan day. i really like him. so i can hope.

so not feeling bad anymore. thanks for the comments about it. i'll stop whining about it now. since there is no longer anything to whine about. yay!

I say you are entitled to whine. Really.

I whine and my biggest problem health wise is headaches and hip bersitis (they think). Annoying and painful, but cancer they are not.

Knowing what I do about thyroid cancer and all its many issues. It is a real pain in the butt and very hard to deal with. NO one treats you like you are sick and you are. Yahoo for getting thyrogen (my sister in law cannot get it and it is horrible to not have). I cannot believe your lame doctor and tech were not remembering the protocol they previously told you. It seems like you are having to make up your own treatment plan. STINKS!
