Happy New Valent-Easter! another late night shopping adventure!
i was at Walmart(my fave late night spot since it is the only place open after 10) and i found tons of Christmas stuff on clearance (75% off) which is to be expected. then i saw the beginnings of Valentines stuff being set up , 1/2 an aisle of Valentines candy at least and Valentine shirts in the baby/toddler section right? ok that is all par for the course.
Have i mentioned that Valentines day is my fave Holiday? love it! love that you can give gifts and yet there isn't the stress and expense involved that christmas gives. I love the candy, love the decorations. love the colors. hello red and PINK! all kinds of pink! love love it! love the thoughtfulness! love the cards! i love shopping for valentines. I love making crafts! seriously love valentines day! and Lance knows not to give me the shaft for it. that fight was fought before we tied the knot and since we aren't completely broke providing fabulous childhood memories for the kids, we can actually afford to buy ME something. I love Valentines day!
I looked at valentines fabric to do the pillowcases like Cara talked about with her traditions! and i am so making some for Valentines day! yup. and i am buying fabric to do Christmas ones for next christmas too. but first I'm making valentines cases. so cute. i am all sorts of excited about it. maybe i need a sewing machine first. OR maybe I'll finagle my mom into doing them for me? huh huh whatta ya think? good plan? i should buy a machine. i have all sorts of great ideas i need a sewing machine for. I know a early valentines day gift? smart? i think so!
so then i was pretty much done shopping around, it had been 2 hours wandering. so i proceeded to the check outs at the front of the store (do you ever hear that over the intercom just before a store is closing? i do all the time.) AND up at the registers low and behold what did I see? but my fave easter candy staring at me.
for 50 cents a piece. i resisted for a minute but decided it will make me happy (new years resolutions right?seek happiness? find Joy? ) so i went for it! i just ate the Reese's Peanut butter egg. and am currently enjoying a Cadbury creme egg. heavenly! so yeah, loving that there is easter candy out, but why? what are they thinking?! i guess it's no different than the Halloween/thanksgiving/Christmas stuff out in September.
so Happy New-Valent-Easter!
by the way what is your fave holiday?
and your fave holiday candy?
do you have issues with the rushing of the holiday's in the retail arena?

Those PB eggs are delish! My fave Easter candy is Robin Eggs (mini & large)! Mmmmm so yummy! I buy them just for me & hide them so I don't have to share w/ the kids. tee hee :)
The best candy is fresh Reeses! so now I know to get them fresh I have to buy right after the new year. So crazy that they rush the holidays. I do not know that I have a fav holiday . I do like the holidays where I do more with my family the best. That is usually Easter, Thankgiving, and Christmas. I guess I have a top three. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I am super ready for school to start:)
I saw the isle of Valentine's stuff, but didn't see Easter! Wow! Although it does come early this year, in March instead of April so I guess it's not that far off. Fun idea making the pillowcases. Yes, you should get a machine. I'm sure you'd find lots of things to use it on. Especially with your girls. Since I only have boys I only use mine for window treatments, or pillows or repairing clothes. I don't get that excited over Valentine's Day. Our anniversary is in January, so by the time we have Christmas, and then our anniversary, V-Day is just another day for us. But I try to give a little something to my boys. And I did see a cute heart shaped wreath I may have to get...
I have real issues with holiday stuff being out early and that is really early! I am not sure what my favorite holiday is because most of them require a lot of work on my part (lol). I think I like Christmas best but not the prep, the decorating, or undecorating for that matter... just the day when somehow it all got done and you can enjoy it.
I just found your blog & I love it!
I like the cadbury carmel easter eggs for sure. I was in target & saw racks & racks of bikinis! What in the world it's 17 degrees here this morning!?
Holy cow, I can't believe they had the Easter candy out. That's going to be nice and fresh by April. Yuck!
I was shopping at Target last night (also 75% off on Christmas stuff) and I noticed all of the Valentine's Day stuff but that's been out since before Christmas here. Nothing like buying your loved ones Valentine's stuff for Christmas.
I wish the retail stores would wait a bit before they move on to the next holiday.
I'm still trying to finish my reeses peanut butter trees for goodness sakes ;)
I love Valentine's Day too! Heart shaped sugar cookies, red heart shaped boxes of candy, conversations hearts, retro cards...LOVE IT!
Next to my birthday week, it's probably my favorite holiday too!
I LOVE Reeses eggs! Cadbury's are Jon's favorites. Maybe we need to take a RAD shopping trip at the Walmart!!
As to your holiday question, for me it's Christmas. :)
I'm not ready for Vanlent-Easter! I am still having a Christmas hangover. Can't they give us a moment to gather ourselves before thrusting us into another holiday!!??? I must admit that I LOVE the peanut butter eggs.
If you asked me last week I would have told you that Christmas is my fave holiday but today I am trying to move past it. Today my favorite holiday is my birthday - its not for a few months and it is all about me:) no work involved!
THE CANDY IS THE BEST THIS TIME OF YEAR. YOU GOT ME ALL EXCITED!!THANKS!!!
Your blog is a blast to read! Your bubbly attitude is pretty contagious! Happy New Year, and Valentine's, and Easter...
i've been wanting to go to walmart sooooo bad...it's 18 minutes away, plus i have to pass a highway "rest stop" on the way, so seems even longer= therefore, i never go! but i really need to go get me some of those great dealios at 75% off before they're gone!
i ♥ easter...easter candy (dove truffle eggs, cadbury eggs, reeses pb eggs too) i love easter dresses, spring, bunnies, you name it! i love it. and it gives me enough time to recover from the christmas expenses too.
oh and i love how you ask ?'s to your readers...so i tried it out on my blog. :)
have a great 08'!
I love it!
I love that it spurs me on to get my act together for the next big day!
I love Valentine's day too...I've already gotten the kiddos some fun things for the big day.
And the candy! I think we need to get some fun candy going in the middle of the summer~ like for Independence Day!?
You are making me hungry!!! I love Halloween it is one of my favorites. I think you should do a year around year! Just think how cute you could make the Valentine's one all pink and cute!!!
So I absolutely love both of those candies too, but don't you think the quality of the Cadbury eggs has gone down in recent years? Is it that or my quality level for candy has gone up? I don't know, but Easter is my favorite holiday for candy. Yummy!
That's it. I'll be sending you good mail for Valentine's! Email me your address maxmom2233@gmail.com
Oh, those peanut butter eggs are calling my name..........
