last minute easter thoughts. not spiritual in the slightest. totally vain rantings.
Easter baskets filled and ready to hide. since 10 am Saturday.
ribbon purchase for hair bows to match dresses since 12:30 pm Saturday.
shirts washed for 2 big boys. 5pm Saturday.
Hating that I didn't get a new Easter dress, and shopped from 8:15pm to 10pm ending up with NADA! SATURDAY! i should have gone earlier. and shelled out the $100 bucks for the outfit i tried on the other night. DAMN IT WHY AM I CHEAP WITH MYSELF?
hating that i saw or ran into a ton of people today wearing a silly dress and capris today. i felt ok about it until this evening AFTER i tried on dresses. and a bathing suit. NEVER GOOD! actually the bathing suit wasn't that bad but feeling like a fat heifer at the nearest Target to ASU. everyone seems so hip and attractive there. and then there is me. hating it.
AND i haven't finished the bows yet. NOPE it is 11:15 on Easter EVE. and i don't have the most important item finished. RIDICULOUS!
and you wanna know how much i spent on RIBBON today? $50 bucks! 50 smackaroos! 50 freaking dollars. i couldn't make a choice to save my life so i got extra, and a variety. and it was frankly ridiculous! i better go get on that. CRAP!
HAPPY FREAKING EASTER!
why do i do this to myself?
because people tell me" your kids always look so cute!" so i have to keep up my standards and meet expectations. or exceed them . i like to exceed expectations. i should just quit procrastinating. and plan ahead.
DANG!
NOTE TO SELF- buy yourself a freaking Easter dress well in advance next year.
on the other hand, no one even looks at me anyway. they are all looking at the kids.
and to someone who asked our baskets?
i had matching for 5 people and haven't had enough for a few years. Target brings them back every couple years, and when they do I'll buy a few more. until then we got the cheap buckets target had this year. the scalloped edge one. in the past we have used beach buckets too. anyway. the kids said we needed new ones. and i'm cheap so i bought the 99cent ones. only 6. lance and i can either use old ones or get the shaft accordingly. rad.

I'm just starting E's bow, but of course I had to take a break and see if there were any new posts/comments because I too am a procrastinator! However, I lucked out and found the perfect ribbon in a box and even a tiny barrette - so I guess we're going to try the whispy tiny ponytail tomorrow.
I looked for a dress for myself too and struck out. But I did get myself some cute plaid burmudas, matching shirt, and some capris - now I just hope they all fit, since I NEVER try on at the store.
yep...getting the shaft. i can seriously relate. my life is spent in Yoga pants and tee shirts...but Jordan? oh she looks adorable EVERY. Single. DAY. my hubby gets so frustrated with me when i cry every sunday morning because i don't have ANYTHING cute to wear. last weekend he told me i was FORBIDDEN to by Jordan a single thing before i bought myself something.
it is so CUTE how he thinks he can tell me what to do. adorable even.
good luck on the bows...so fun! i cannot wait to see pics.
Well if it makes you feel better, I too did not get a new dress...I scrimaged through all my "fat" Clothes to find something remotly eastery...I think I got something but hopefully it fits me.
Isnt it funny how our children are so much more important...
I hope you too have a wonderfull easter...Can't wait to see your easter photo's!!
Happy Easter, you crazy nut! I'm sure the bows will be done & all offspring will look adorable. Can't wait to see pictures!
And don't even TALK about not finding an Easter dress; try being me and having to try & find a MATERNITY dress. Ugh. I actually resemble an Easter egg.
I applaud your efforts for looking for a dress--great job! I bet your kids will be fabulous and you will be ultra cool mom tomorrow. Easter is one of my faves, but this year I opted out of brunch because I didn't want to rush around and dress up.
Hope you have a great day!
I don't even get to do Easter this year. The Dr said I can't bring Nolan around our 90 year old Grammie. Apparently if she gets the shingles, she dies. Waahh! So, I am stuck home with the two little ones (in case Kendall gets the virus). So it's a day of stretchy pants and t-shirts once again!
What I find hilarious?? You spend 50 bucks on HAIR bows, but can't shell out the big bucks for you. Next time, splurge. You deserve to feel gorgeous!
I'm gonna have to teach you how to get over spending money on yourself. I don't have that problem : ) Actually I probably wouldn't have spent that much either, unless it made me look fab and I was totally in love with it. Then it's worth it.
Can't wait to see pics of your kids. Hope you have a great day.
at least you looked for something to new to wear...i got the same old stuff. happy easter to you guys!
Happy Easter!
I cant wait to see pictures of the bows I am sure you got done and did a fab job on!!!
When will some of us moms learn to give ourselves a break and buy something for ourselves??? This is the first year I did! A skirt! Yes I will wear a crappy t-shirt and old shoes with it, but at least it is a start!!
Why do we women do it to ourselves? We don't spend on ourselves and then we're upset that we didn't -OR we do spend on ourselves and then feel guilty for the rest of our lives!! I'm not complaining. I would much rather be like this than (gasp) a man. :)
Your kids look adorable! I love the one of your 3 girls. The bows are super cute too! I wish I could make bows but my girls are lucky if they have a piece of ribbon tied into their hair in some way, shape, or form.
I had the same problem this year with making decisions, therefore spending way too much extra money. I was noticing that the other day! I totally went overboard on candy and I HATE that! They need to sell a large variety of the good Easter candy in one of those huge bins so you can scoop up the amount of what you think you need/want and that way you don't have to have 10 1/2 filled bags left over just so you had enough variety for baskets! Sorry for ranting here! I'm done.
I understand. I was at Wal-mart LATE last night buying blk shoes for Jonathan who informed me LAST night that his were too small now. AND ribbon for hair. Wasn't sure what was going to come of it but it all turned out. Posting pics tomorrow. Tired now!
i think i jumped here from http://ourcrazylifewithkids.blogspot.com/
Your kids look adorable. Awesome pics! I'm sooooo jealous of your ribbonmaking. I do my best work under pressure (ie. last minute/late at night) myself, but I don't think any of my five boys would appreciate a matching hair ribbon. Nor would my husband. *sigh*
I too spend waaaaay too much time and definitely too much money choosing clothing for the boys. And certainly not enough for myself. But don't think people are only looking at the kids. I've noticed that after they gush over the matching, yet different color outfits I obsessed over, their eyes wander to the parents responsible for this troop. I haven't left the house unshowered in years.
The kids look fab! I looked at your bow tutorial, and I can't do it. You have talent, my friend. Ever thought of selling them? Cuz I SO would buy some! Think about it!! The buckets are great. I hope your family had a great Easter!
Your kids are always really cute. And since I am reading these out of order-- why no pictures of your new dress?
Didn't even look for a dress and didn't even wear something eastery, I went for a black skirt so that I could wear my boots and not shave. OOOOOHHHH Gross I know. The bows turned out cute. We did the 99 cent buckets this year and oops forgot to get one for hubby so he got to use a big tupperware bowl. LOL whatever works I guess.
