a super fabulouso Cinco de Mayo!
I hope yours is SUPER FABULOUSO!
apparently at my house when i was younger,
Cinco de Mayo was cause for dressing up?
and getting pictures.
here I am (crazymama) with my little sister Maria,
(yes that is her real name not a fake name for the holiday.)
circa 1981?
yeah WHOOHOO! Cinco de Mayo!
(even though Maria had hacked her bangs.)
at the time I'm sure my mom was horrified,
i vividly recall her dismay/irritation at the self inflicted hackjob.
i've been called out, it seems i failed to mention that i MAY HAVE assisted or even inflicted the hack job on Maria.
honestly that part is fuzzy , but i know she took the blame for 25 years at least.
anyway.
and now? they are a personal fave!
there is a moral of the story here....
even if the kids aren't picture perfect,
take the picture anyway for a reminder of the real kids,
not imaginary perfect ones.
it's even better if there is something embarrassing or remarkable about the picture for later illustration of a story.
~~
Maria was a quick thinker,
and after being asked a few times who cut her hair?
she got tired of being snickered at over it, (or lectured,)
so
she started lying,
and saying "my mommy cut it."
~~
my big plans?
eating mexican food from somewhere yummy!
and bunko tonight! WHOOHOO!
wonder if we'll be having a mexican fiesta theme?
just so you can go ahead and be jealous and get it out of your system ,
i have bunko TWICE this week.
yay me!
maybe it will take the edge off the rest of my reality.
SUPER BONUS?
Peyton was ill last night, and is home today. (he's in quarantine in the basement)
The super part about having him home? we can go to lunch alone.
now that someone mentioned her menu for the evening.
Costa Vida is calling to me.
thanks for that !

Love the picture! You are right, it makes for better memories, but it's oh so hard for a mom to swallow her pride when something like that happens!
Love the picture!!!!
Love the pic and LOL at Maria lying! Sorry I can't sub tonight, but I will be thinking of you as I am eating my yummy fresh home made salsa and knock of costa vida sweet pork tacos!!
!Me Gusta! Thanks for the little bio on my hair chop... I notice you omitted the possibility that YOU might have had something to do with my bangs?? ;D That definately was one of our favorite pictures in the hallway, I'm glad mom hadn't evened out the bangs yet!
Happy Cinco de mayo!
Much like St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo was, according to my English mom, "a fake holiday." So we NEVER celebrated it. I'd bring it up the morning of, and my mom would laugh this laugh she reserved for things that disgusted her.
Granted, most people have no idea why it's a "holiday" anyway.
HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!! Missy asked what we do for cinco de mayo and I said "well we eat mexican food" she said "oh"
We do that just about everyday anyway so it became not so exciting for her.
Mexicans defeating the French right?
Oh P.S. love the pic. I gave myself a haircut behind the couch ( fave hiding spot) I don't think we have any pictures though.
