Halloween costume pre-trials.

here's a Halloween preview straight out of the camera from
Grandma's annual Halloween extravaganza.

She has her Halloween party every year including dinner, games, a trick or treat alley
(all the adults each go behind a bedroom door to pass out candy when the kids come knocking. the kids make the rounds until all the candy is gone)
then there is cupcake decorating, sometimes we decorate pumpkins,
and we always celebrate the Oct. birthdays while we are together.
the kids love it. grandma Loves it.
and it gives everyone else a reason to get the costumes together early.
it's always jam packed full of fun for the kids.

a little pre Halloween costume parade.
a Pre-trial if you will.

Introducing Punk rock boy, Miss America, the Dark knight, my Silly Sailor, Flower Fairy, and the little devil.

Peyton didn't have a costume picked before this evening
so this is what we came up with in a pinch.
I styled his hair between dinner and the trick or treat alley.
he just wore a regular school shirt and jeans with a rockin' studded collar from the $ bin at tarjay.

I whipped up Liberty's updo, and let her borrow my tiara
again between dinner and the trick or treating.
Oh and i forgot the bumpits at home , darn it.

How old does she look to you?

Ah the Dark Knight. i scored this costume today at goodwill 50% off sale.
whoohoo $4 he didn't want to use it until he saw the grappling hook.

Joy's sailor costume.
i still need to hunt down a cute sailor hat.
you can't see her red sparkle shoes we borrowed from grandma's costume collection
but she wore them.
FAAAANNNCCCYYY!
this is looking rather Jane Fonda workout-ish
with the headband that way and the side ponytail.(honestly i'm re thinking this outfit)

the little flower fairy.
and the little devil.
it's a good thing he doesn't know this track pants outfit really belongs to Hope.
(he didn't notice the crown on the jacket or pants)
he digs on the horn headband from the dollar bin.
and he thinks a devil growls like a cat.
AWESOME!

here's another group shot,

nothing better than getting caught pickin' a winner.

Back-Peyton age 10 , Liberty age 10 , Paxton age 8, Joy age 7

Front- Hope age 5 , Pierce age 3

i wonder what everyone is going to end up being the night of Halloween, somehow it always changes.

i added up the grand total for costume expenditures including Liberty's new silver heels, and Paxton's costume with grappling hook and Peyton's dollar necklace and Pierce's dollar bin horns and i spent a whopping $17.50 to dress all of the kids. um yeah i think this was the cheapest Halloween we've ever had.

you may bow down now.
;)

funny thing, when Liberty tried on her dress to show my little sister, she noticed Liberty needs to shave her legs to really pull off the Miss America facade. um yeah. we didn't have time to go there, but holy crud. she's 10. she isn't looking like a 4th grader in this outfit.

It's gonna be a SCARY FOR ME in the FUTURE !

They all look so cute! What a fun way to celebrate.

Yeah...starting at 10 it really gets interesting. If you think tween and preteen are hard...hold onto your underpants...this being a mom of a teen SUCKS! It is zero fun...and all drama...I want my 10 year old back!

LOve it! you did a great job for 17.50. i agree these 10 year olds grow up way too fast! mine started wearing a bra a few months ago because she was "puffy" as my niece pointed out. i'm not ready for her to shave her legs too.
what a fun night! i wish my mom lived here so we would be able to do things like this.

$17.50 - holy fabulous! Not telling you what I paid for Connor's. Why can't he just be something Taylor already wore is what I want to know.

Taylor is shaving his face now, like once or twice a week. I'm not ready for that!!

Very cute, all of them. I really need to work on Halloween costumes and get the kids on board for a final decision. I wish I didn't have to factor weather into costumes like I do up here. Lot's of Halloweens they don't even need a costume since we have to bundle them all up like eskimos!
