Rad/not rad - end of the school year thoughts.
I'm gearing myself up, and I'm sorta ready and sorta scared for summer with the herd.
it'll fly by. it always does.
Rad- only one monday left of the school year.
not rad- only one monday left. i prefer mondays to um sundays. like super lots. perhaps it's because everyone leaves and it's just me and my sidekick?
Rad- only 8 early morning wake ups before school is out for summer!
not rad- only 8 days of school left then it's me and the herd all day every day. entertaining.
Rad- end of year lunch date rush. everyone wants to squeeze it in before the kids are out.
not rad- catching flak for lots o' lunch dates. hey, we're squeezing 'em in, since it doesn't happen during the summer. lunch dates are considerably less fun with little ears and big bellies taggin' along.
Rad- summer tan coming soon.
not rad- summer heat setting in.
Rad- sleeping in later than 7:25 am.
not rad- making 3 meals a day plus snacks for 8 every day all summer long.
RAD- our hot plans? swimming lots . napping. computing. movie fun. hitting the drive in . cousin fun. chillin'. craftin'.
not rad- also to be expected? bickering. mess making. screaming. cleaning. whining. chores. sweating. fighting for time on MY computer.
wheeee i can't wait.
what's rad/not rad at your house for summer?
any fun entertaining ideas?
Maybe i'll scour the archives for the summer fun ideas i posted a couple years ago and repost. maybe. i'm off to lunch so it'll be later (like tomorrow or never).

i always have mixed emotions about summer.
rad- no fighting at bed time, we swim just about everyday and they are tired and usually hit the sack by like 10. not rad- they get to sleep in, i don't. rad- they are old enough to cook them selves lunch/get their own snacks. not rad- they don't clean up the mess after and everything is left out unless mean mom comes out. but i'm sure it will fly by and we will have a good time for sure. glad i get to have a lunch date with ya before the summer craziness starts!
AHHH YES... THE OMG SUMMER IS HERE ALMOST... YES... N AND THE OH SH*T SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE AND I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM ALL DAY EVERYDAY...... SCREAMING LITTLE ME ME'S.... POST!
WE ARE ALTERNATING GOING TO WET AND WILD UP IN NORTH PHX AND SENDING ONE TO CAMP FOR 7 DAYS AND SWIMMING AND MOVIE-ING AND RESTING AND WORKING OUT AND MORE WORKING OUT AND ... MAYNE SOME LEARING HOW TO CLEAN YOUR BEDROOM CORRECTLY LESSONS.. OR NOT...
Rad, summer school for some.
Not rad, I have to get them there.
Rad, no babysitting.
Not rad, no $$$$.
All in all, mostly excited for it!
Usually I'm ready for them to be out, but this year I'm not. I like my alone time, plus not having to fix so many meals. Why is it easier to fix them lunch in the morning and send them out the door, than have to fix them lunch here at lunchtime? I don't get it. And I hate having them want to spend so much time on their computers. They get lazy, but it's hot so if we're not swimming, they're playing video games. I'm glad there's a lot of new movies coming out. That will help.
