I LOVE love the recent tribute album of U2's Achtung Baby. Commemorating the 20 year anniversary of the release. Including covers done by the Killers, Depeche Mode, Jack White and Nine Inch Nails, among others. I seriously LOVE IT! you can read about it here.

The Killers cover is my fave.

here give it a listen. while you read the rest of my post.

(Hello Brandon Flowers can call me baby any day. I will sure as heck light his way.)

What kills me about this is....I was 14 when the original album came out.

20 freaking YEARS! when did that happen?

I'm still young right?

Apparently NOT.

Today I came to this sudden realization, I am not young and haven't been for some time. I mean 20 years is a long time.

It sounds like a long time. much longer than it really is right?!

I told the hubs this today, and he laughed then pointed out, we have a kid that turns 13 this month.

We've been married for almost 15 years.

He continued listing things that don't seem that long ago that happened 5 or 6 years ago.

We have 7 kids, that didn't just happen over night!

Then, I went on to realize, I've known the bulk of my FB friends for over 20 years, lots are from Jr high and elementary school even.

Crap. Time flies.

The Picture at the top of the post was taken 20 years ago, I was 14. It looks more like my daughter than it looks like me these days.

How old were you 20 years ago?

What song was your fave on the original album?

if you weren't a U2 fan, what was your fave song 20 years ago?

Seriously! Jeff and I were laying in bed last night and realized that our first date was 15 years ago?!! And we both started laughing about how "long" ago that seemed and that we are old. I am glad I have known you for 20 years! And as always, LOVE LOVE LOVE U2, so sad I have never seen them in concert.

I was 16 when the album came out. I went to the concert at the Los Angeles sports arena too. The Pixies opened up for them. It was awesome! My friend and I thought we were so cool because we were the only kids at my school to go to the show. I bought a t-shirt and wore it with pride the day after the concert. My favorite songs from the album are So Cruel, One, and Ultraviolet. The killers did a great remake of ultraviolet. I totally can't believe that it has been 20 yrs!!!

20 years ago I was about to turn 9. We won't think about what that means right now. . .

I can't click through the album right now, but I know I was superdork at that age and listened to the Fantasia soundtrack cassette non stop.

Didn't know about this album! So great!! I'll have to check it out.

I am a U2 fan. Used to be a way bigger U2 fan, but still love their stuff. My faves from the original album are:
Mysterious Ways
Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World
Until the End of the World
Love is Blindness

Yay!!
