spring break 2012 day 1- The Zoo
i took my herd to the zoo today.
it was sunny and 82 degrees.
perfect zoo weather. apparently other people thought so too because the ticket line was half way down the bridge leading into the zoo. but the zoo is huge and there really weren't insane amounts of people.
my in laws were the ones who wanted to go in the first place and they ended up flaking out and ditching us and not going when they saw the ticket line.
So we had a fabulous time by ourselves. the hubs took the day off and went with us. so it was a family outing.
the big kids were a huge help with the baby. they took turns getting him in and out of the stroller and carrying him.
in the petting zoo, one pathetic goat was surrounded by my 7 kids brushing it.
we posed by/on the giant sculptures.
when we stopped for a snack at monkey island the free roaming peacocks came to visit us and were eating out of the kids hands.
by the end of the day we were all hot and dusty. all i wanted was a shower.
the kids jumped in the pool when we got home.
it was a glorious day together.

Looks and sounds like you guys had a great time! I wish our zoo was closer, by the time you get there you are already exhausted by the drive haha.
this looks and sounds like such a great day. and excuse me but your baby is more like a little boy now. who gave him permission to do THAT?

From the pics the kids looked like they had fun. I can't believe how grown up your kids are looking. Why do they do that to us?
We have not been to the zoo in a while, it looks like they have some new things to see. I just don't know if I can handle the kids and the crowd this week.:)

Zoo days are such a chore, but always fun somehow. That looks like a fun zoo with lots of places for photo ops.
Oh, and my in-laws would totally do that, too--flake out at the last minute.
