from drab to FAB! the amazing back pack redo!

ok peeps! it's 5:13 am.
and i have been burning the midnight oil.

to redo this DRAB hand me down boy backpack. (it was Paxton's last year)
and is
being recycled for Joy (due to budget crisis 2008)

all it took was a little Fuchsia spray paint. some painters tape and grocery ads.

take note: it isn't the smartest to spray paint on your kitchen counter...

this is why!
i am a genius i tell you. yes that is Pink spray paint.
it did come off with Clorox wipes.

gotta press some Fabric, and what do you do when you don't own a real iron?

a flat iron will do FINE!
to press the edges
whah lah!

gotta love the wonder of a hot glue gun!
it makes every project FABULOUS!

a little mega bow with Bling

some edgy pins
some ribbon, and a rhinestone slide
along with some FABULOUS FUCHSIA LIPS(key chain)
and we have a backpack ready to start the year out right with JOY!
this backpack is so fabulous i am tempted to keep it for myself!

i was inspired by this bag embellishing.

oh crap and the sun is coming up!
i better go to bed. happy sunday. i am seriously gonna need a nap!

So I stopped by to see if you posted any pics of "the clock". I've been dreaming of it and trying to come up with ways to raise money so that I could go buy one myself. And since comming up with an extra $45 isn't all that easy, I figured I'd come to see if you have a pic so I could just stare and covet. I see no picture but I do see an awesome tutorial on re-doing backpacks! I have to give you and A++ for that one. It's freakin' cute! What a lucky daughter you have. Thanks for sharing. You'll have to tell us On a scale of 1-10 what was the level of difficulty.
